Acute Perinatal Registered Nurse, BC Women’s Hospital & Health Centre (BCW):
BCW is the only facility in British Columbia devoted primarily to the health of women, newborns and families. It provides a broad range of specialized women’s health services that address the health needs of women of all ages and backgrounds. BC Women’s is one of the largest maternity facilities in Canada, with over 7,000 births a year, and is both the major primary and secondary maternity services provider in the Lower Mainland and the cornerstone of the provincial tertiary care system. As an academic health centre BCW’s mandate includes providing strong leadership in research and the education and professional development of health care professionals in areas related to the health of the populations we serve.

Qualifications:

  • Eligibility for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC)
  • Recent 2 years related experience in perinatal nursing or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Current CPR/Newborn Resuscitation Certification (NRP)
  • Completion of a Perinatal specialty certificate

Neonatal Nurse, BC Women's Hospital & Health Centre

Qualifications:

  • Eligibility for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC)
  • Current CPR/Newborn Resuscitation Certification (NRP)
  • Recent 2 years related experience in neonatal nursing (level 2/3) or an equivalent combination of educaiton and experience.

Operating Room Nurse, BC Children's Hospital (BCCH):
BCCH cares for the province's most acutely ill or injured children and youth, provides developmental and rehabilitation services to children and youth throughout BC, and offers a broad range of health services. Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children (SHHC), a leading provincial facility offering specialized services to children and youth with developmental disabilities from birth to age 17, works collaboratively with BCCH. SHHC focuses on the child and their family while supporting health care professionals in their community. BCCH also operates a wide number of specialized health programs, is a leading acute care teaching facility, and conducts research to advance health and care through the Child and Family Research Institute and in partnership with the University of British Columbia.

Qualifications:

  • Eligibility for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC)
  • Recent 2 years related experience in Operating Room or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Completion of a Perioperative specialty certificate
  • Current CPR (BCLS Level I)

Child Psychiatry Nurse, BC Children's Hospital (BCCH):
As part of the provincial mental health services continuum, BC Mental Health & Substance Use Services provides a diverse range of specialized, "one-of-a-kind" tertiary level mental health services to residents across all geographic areas in BC.  These include Adult Forensic Psychiatric Services located at Forensic Psychiatric Hospital plus six regional clinics, and the Child and Mental Youth Mental Health Services located at BC Children's Hospital.  In addition to direct services, BC Mental Health & Substance Use Services acts as a support and resource to service providers across the province, and contributes to research and education.

Qualifications:

  • Eligibility for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC) or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of British Columbia (CRPNBC)
  • Graduation from a recognized diploma program in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing.
  • Recent 1 year related experience working in a child/adolescent psychiatric pediatric mental health care setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Completion of a Perioperative specialty certificate
  • Current CPR -Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS Level I)

 

Direct Care Nurse – Forensic Psychiatric Hospital 

As part of the provincial mental health services continuum, BC Mental Health & Substance Use Services provides a diverse range of specialized, "one-of-a-kind" tertiary level mental health services to residents across all geographic areas in BC.  These include Adult Forensic Psychiatric Services located at the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital plus six regional clinics, and Child and Mental Youth Mental Health Services located at BC Children's Hospital.  In addition to direct services, BC Mental Health & Substance Use Services acts as a support and resource to service providers across the province, and contributes to research and education. 

Qualifications: 

  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC) or as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRPNBC). 
  • Graduation from a recognized diploma program in Psychiatric Nursing or Nursing.
  • One (1) year of recent experience working in a forensic or acute psychiatric hospital setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CPR Training – Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) – Level 1. 

 

Forensic Community & Liaison Nurse

As part of the provincial mental health services continuum, BC Mental Health & Substance Use Services provides a diverse range of specialized, "one-of-a-kind" tertiary level mental health services to residents across all geographic areas in BC.  These include Adult Forensic Psychiatric Services located at the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital plus six regional clinics, and Child and Mental Youth Mental Health Services located at BC Children's Hospital.  In addition to direct services, BC Mental Health & Substance Use Services acts as a support and resource to service providers across the province, and contributes to research and education.

Qualifications:

  • Current practicing registration with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of British Columbia (CRPNBC) or the College of Registered Nurses or BC (CRNBC).
  • Graduation from a recognized diploma program in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing.
  • Two (2) year of recent experience working with individuals in the community with severe and persisten psychiatric illness.
  • CPR Training – Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) – Level 1.

**Fraser Health is accepting applications at this time only for Intensive Care Unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Emergency, Cardiac Surgery ICU, Post Anesthetic Care Unit and Operating Rooms

Candidates must have the following in order to be considered:

    • “Provisional registration” with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC)
    • Three years of current full-time experience in your area of specialty
    • Verified post-basic certification (6 to 12 months coursing) in your area of specialty

  • Two (2) years’ recent related experience working with individuals with severe and persistent psychiatric illness and/or older adults with behavioral and psychological symptoms (BPSD).

Candidates must have the following in order to be considered for Perioperative/OR Nurses opportunities:

  • “Provisional registration” with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC)
  • Three years of current full-time experience in both scrub and circulating in the OR.
  • Verified post-basic certification (6 to 12 months coursing) in your area of specialty

Candidates must have the following in order to be considered for Post Anaesthetic Recovery- PACU/Emergency Department & ICU opportunities:

  • “Provisional registration” with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC)
