Beautiful British Columbia
Northern BC
Comprising more than half the geographical area of the province, Northern BC is home to majestic mountains, forested valleys, pristine lakes, and the world's largest unlogged coastal temperate rainforest. Snowmobiling, backcountry skiing, white-water rafting and freshwater fishing are just a few of the many recreational opportunities in this spectacular outdoor playground.

With a vibrant First Nations heritage that dates back thousands of years, the region is also rich with historical and cultural attractions. Northern BC is characterized by a diverse climate with mild conditions in the fall and spring, sun-filled summers and snowy winters. The area is accessible by air, rail, road, and sea.

The economic backbone of this region is centred in forestry, tourism, mining, agriculture, fishing and the oil and gas industry. The region's major medical facility and the University of Northern British Columbia are both located in Prince George. Smaller centres include Fort St. John, Dawson Creek, Terrace, Prince Rupert, Smithers, and Vanderhoof.

The Northern BC Region is served by the Northern Health Authority and the Provincial Health Services Authority.
